I won the GT5 Sig Ed Comp!!

Post by Stigy »

For those that asked, I won the Australian/New Zealand region of the Gran Turismo 5 Signature Edition competition :D
About the comp
Basically we had to have the fastest total time over 5 laps of 5 tracks, with a month to put our best times in. I won my region by 0.1 seconds, out of a total time of over 43mins!!! MANY hours were spent improving times, so not much Revoing went on in January :?

So we're still waiting on full details, but I, along with 14 others from around the world, will fly to Germany, and compete over a few days in driving events in real cars (probably AMG Mercs) on real tracks, and the winner of that gets a half million dollar SLS AMG. Should be good fun win or not :D

That's totally awesome stig! Good job.

Luckily you're not in the U.S., iirc Australia counts prizes as windfall so no tax? In the U.S. you would have to pay taxes on that beauty if you win (approx $137k) Ooph! :) Hope you tracked your losses and expenses put into winning the prize. But remember, you will still have to pay insurance ;)

Good luck!

Oh heck no! That is another year of school and then being damned to the never-ending drudgery of tax law. Not going to happen, no way, no how.
