When some people sweat, they can transfer chemicals from there skin into certain metals. when I was in egypt it was so hot I discoloured my camera through the same process. My revomaze has discoloured as well due to the time I have been playing with it

Jazz, how do you reverse this?

Chris, whats it going to cost for a sleeve replacement?

I wash my hands before i mess with my puzzles. i wonder if that made any difference. i assume it does. if nothing else it keeps the grooves and crevices clean.

I have been messing about with my revomaze a lot more recently, and now the anodized finish is no longer rubbing off, and the discoloured shaft is getting brighter all the time - I think it is rubbing off as I use it. Solution - keep playing with it.

so you are suggesting that as one plays with the puzzle the shaft will become discolored, and then if they continue to play with it, it will go away?

Interesting theory, but its a hell of a lot better that HRL's.

The affected area is a kinda grey coloured smudge. It looks kinda cloudy on the end of the shaft. Mine has now almost totally gone, although some still remains on the nut part at the end. I'm gonna take mine apart today and try some autosol on the end of it - its like a kinda metal polish.

Should get rid of the last of the blemish - I'll let you know how I get on. :D

I have just finished polishing my revomaze blemish - wow! It comes right off using Autosol. It's a metal polish that comes in a tube kinda like toothpaste. Just a very light smear and rub gently on the affected area with a soft cloth (the white cream started to turn a light blue) and then rub gently until it all polishes off. What a difference, looks just like new now. I imagine any kind of metal polish would do the trick, give it a go you won't believe the difference afterwards! :D :D :D :D

I can try and post a pic, unfortunately I dont have a before pic.
