Shuttle Launch

Post by left027 »

Yeah man, they're retiring the Shuttle Program and Constellation has been put on hold. It could be a very long time until American's travel to space again. (Outside of Satellites of course).

I assume this will increase the rate at which the private sector choses to get into space launches.

Definitely. Space X has a human approved capsule called "Dragon Nest." It's pretty epic and there's always Spaceship One.

Yep, the commercial world's solution to getting humans in space. http://www.spacex.com/ http://www.virgingalactic.com/overview/spaceships/

Well, I'm not directly involved with the ISS so I can only speculate. Once the US retires the space shuttle program we(the US) will not have a way to get to the ISS. Other countries may still be able to use it though. Sorry I don't have a definite answer.

Being directly involved with the ISS, I can say Americans will have no problem hitchhiking a ride with the Russians or Europeans. :ugeek:
