At the risk of a "me too!" post, I completely agree with all here. I paid for a puzzle, not a status or restricted forum.

My only comment would be I wouldn't want the section full of questions and comments from those who haven't even tried the puzzle, so I like the view but no post idea.

Understand the feelings here. Need to allow viewing but only the registered can post? If that is acceptable - I will set that up (maybe once people have their puzzles).

No hidden agenda just thought it would follow the rest of the puzzle setup.

Cheers.

Having borrowed Steve's Revo Black way back in the day, I am still sometimes frustrated by having never seen those registered or open forums. I understand the purpose, but at the same time I do think that if you can confirm having borrowed it, you should be able to chat it up in those forums. :/
If the black extreme is the same as the obsession I also don't see why those who opened the obsession can't have access to the extreme forums.

That appears to be the consensus.

I agree, the view only mode is a great idea. Those that aren't owners could post comments in a general public forum if needed.

Just curious, if the registered forum is view only for non-owners do the non-owners have to request access to it or not?

Not sure what makes seeing the registered group so interesting but I've been reminded by a few people that everyone should be able to read it... so now you should be able to (not that there's a whole lot there). Enjoy :)

Thanks Chris. A vicarious pleasure to be sure, and harmless enough given the low chance of them changing hands.

I think it's a great idea allowing everyone to view the Handmade Progress thread. I love hearing people struggle!!! However, i think the open thread should stay locked (even when they're all open) for non-Handmade owners, even with the slim chance of them ever changing hands, because that's what makes Revomazes special, the mysterious aspect of not knowing!!!
