My favorites ...

I think so, Brain! We'll dress up like biker dudes and infiltrate the "Hades Ladies." Then we'll convince them to hold a meeting inside the corn palace. Narf! The resulting carbon-monoxide buildup will allow you to complete your energy-making device and shortly after, you will rule the world!

Alternatively -

While looking for safe passage through colonial India --
Pinky: Well, I think so, Brain, but... no, it's too stupid.
Brain: We shall disguise ourselves as a cow!
Pinky: Narf, Brain! That was it exactly!

or -

Pinky: I think so, Brain, but she'd never leave Mickey.
Brain: I thought we agreed never to discuss that!

Getting very close to the start date, anyone else as excited for this as I am? :D. Hopefully once the winner is chosen the rest of us can show off some of our ideas to see what kind of stuff the community can come up with if given the chance.

One may not want to be showing off one's designs toooo early. Chris and company may get many promising designs that (in whole or in part) could make it into Series II models.

Chris will gain insights into our darkest fears and most evil desires. He'll know what we like and dislike. He'll know how we think and worse - how to beat us at our own game. This competition will collectively bite us in the butt down the road.

Chris will be the OmnipotentRevoMaster, master of even more evil tricks and deception.

That Chris is one clever dude 8-)

but here's a quandary... do you make a puzzle so that it is really hard?
or do you make it fun too? I have ideas for insanely difficult designs, but I wouldn't want to buy it if I won :)

My answer to that is hard is fun. The longer it takes you to figure out and the more frustrating it is equals more bang for the buck. If I win and people open mine in a couple of days I'd be seriously disappointed.
