So first it's Emma then Fred and now your new name is USPS then? you give us way more info than they do! Usuall updates are "origin is notified us of shipment". Next thing you know a week later (or so ) your package arrives at the door then that night comes update 2 "package was delivered". Maybe the service will get better now that the price of stamps went up yet again?

I have never tried to track anything using USPS so I can't really comment... but I did notice that it takes roughly a day to get to the US, then a week to be delivered!

On the plus side.. its a real surprise when you get something delivered!

USPS does not start tracking the package until it is past customs. The week delay is caused by the package sitting at U.S. Customs and being tested because it's "weird". If I remember correctly, if you are shipping a product into the U.S. regularly, you can get special certification for it, thus reducing the delay that U.S. Customs causes. Without that, each package gets reviewed individually. Unfortunately, there is a volume requirement for that, which I do not recall offhand. I am sure someone could look it up.

USPS will track your package as it passes through every major mail center. However, if tracking the package will delay delivery, they will skip the tracking. For people on the East Coast, they usually see one update and then the package is there. For people on the West Coast, they usually see two to three updates and then the package is there. For people in the middle of nowhere and not anywhere near a major city, they usually see four to six updates and then the package is there. Visit http://www.usps.com/ and input your tracking number - the one that Fred sent you will work, once the package has passed U.S. Customs (check it every other day or so) - and you will get the latest information, if it is available.
