Not yet, but I have "ahem" narrowed "cough, cough" things down quite a bit. I can't really describe at what point I'm at without spoilers. Matt knows exactly where I am if you're curious. Better yet I can send you the same pm I sent Matt.

Hi Guys,

Just to clear some things up,

The Red is available for shipping FOC worldwide. That means anyone can bid for this puzzle and it will be shipped to them.

Also i've checked the puzzle on Chris's desk and checked the shaft. The serial is actually #R00105 not #R00005  (Chris hadn't pulled the shaft out properly...bless him.)

Regarding the Red unplated shaft, this can of course be used in a sleeve and there is a sleeve available if the person who wins would like it to be made up, however I'm sure people would just want to have a plain shaft as part of the history of the puzzle.

All the best,

Nicole

In your updated info on the ebay page... you say that there are 25 with poor plating that never will be sold... is there a way to unplate and replate them with the new engineers?

In theory it is possible to strip the plating, but the issue will be whether it's cost effective. My guess is that it's not, it's probably cheaper to do a short run of new cores.

Yeh, mine has done that in a few key areas but luckily it doesn't seem to have affected the maze itself.

OK, so send me one of the cores with dodgy plating and I'll strip it myself!

No, seriously.
