SE Coins

Ok as promised in the other thread, I had an idea. Since we have the SE versions of the puzzle, but there really isn't a difference between them. I mean if you take a picture of an SE and a non-SE puzzle you can't tell the difference except for the inside engraving. So I thought what would be something cool to have that the Non-SE people wouldn't have?

So I came up with a Challenge Coin. Now my concern is that it is too much like the coins from SonicWarp. But then again the coins are used by lots of different organizations.

One more thing this is not an Official Revomaze item. It's something that I was looking at buying and selling (not for any profit just to cover costs and probably lose a little money in the process :) ) This means that it would be about $8usd per coin so if you wanted a complete set it would be $40usd. The idea would be to actually sell at least 60 coins to get that price.

So, anyway here are 2 examples of my idea.

the only issue i see is that you are looking at making a different coin for each color. and only coins for the SE's. which means the most you'll have is 5 sets of 12 coins. from my coin ordering experience, i think they are going to be far more expensive. a minimum order is usually 100. even if they counted 5x12 thats still only 60 coins.

you might need to make all the coins exactly the same and then engrave the specifics. but im still up for it.

Yes I would have to buy 100 coins. But I don't have to buy 100 for each color. And yes this is only for the SE group. So, I'm hoping to sell 60 and that would put them at $8 each. Then there's the Purple one's that could be done at the same time. There are other option like getting them numbered for like $0.50 more.

I would hazard a guess that you would have to have explicit permssion from Chris to use the revomaze name and image.

if you got that I would be interested. but please .....no pyramids

I voted yes but i'm more of a maybe. Would have to see first to decide if i like them and would want Chris to give it the OK as well.

Hi All

Walther has spoken to me regarding this - and I like the idea as long as they are well made and look the part. (His quick drawing does look good).

All the SE people will be getting a Mahogany stand with inlayed engraved brass plaque. If people like these more - I could supply the stand with a coin recess to take the coin (on both the individual and series stands).

I would then pay $5 towards each coin ($25) per set.

I would only do this if everyone is happy. My other concern is that the coins go to the SE Club members.

We do not wish to rush these so your views are important.

Best regards

Chris

I voted "not my cup of tea" but realized that I don't own a SE and do not "crave" one either so take my vote with that in consideration.

i love the coin recess in the base. sounds like a great idea.

For the coins, we (could) have:
Blue: 12
Green: 12
Bronze: 12
Silver: 12
Gold: 12
Purple: 6
Red: 6
Champion: 1
TOTAL: 73

Which gets you closer to that 100 mark...
