Thanks for the model. I made one and had trouble fitting a pen, so I just used a pencil lead with an elastic band to keep it firmly pressed against the drum.

what kind of trouble did you have getting a pen to fit? Did you read the instructions on the Thingiverse page, or the suggestions in the previous posts regarding pen fitment?

Revomaze Obsession Grip

I've created a grip for my Obsession Black, as I'm not getting any further.

The grip is similar to the one from ReallyBigTeeth, but was created entirely by me (first real try in Fusion360).
The Grip has an outer diameter of about 27.6mm (and therefore larger than the sleeve), which gives a circumference of about 18cm(!).
I'm going to glue some graph paper (incl.) cutout (18cm!) onto the circumference, so the grip will help me map the maze (at least that is my hope).

Graphpaper (with one axis 10 Degrees turn = 5mm on paper and the other axis 10 mm draw of the shaft = 50 mm on paper) is incl. in the Thing.

looking for mapping advice...
I am a new RevoMazer... just bought:
Blue - Green - Bronze - Gunmetal

I know many complete blue without a map; but, am hoping to develop adequate mapping technique with Blue to carry forward to the more difficult puzzles.

So, I have spent a short time with blue and have a simple map of the first dozen or so segments...
Anyone interested in seeing a photo of my progress and technique in order to offer constructive criticism?
I am looking for insight on mapping technique, not really on solving blue- so this seemed more appropriate in this thread.

I haven't drawn a map yet...enjoy doing them in my head so far. Seems like most people label the end of the sleeve with degrees of rotation to use as one axis for your map and then length that the core is out for the other. From there you can use excel or whatever graph paper you want. There's really not a right or wrong way to do it, as long as it makes sense to you and is accurate enough to work. But I am also a newcomer and welcome any further advice anyone has!

1mm graph paper, pencil, eraser, two paper rulers, of which there is a straight one and one of exactly 75mm (circumference of core) where you form a ring and tape the ends together.
Now, you simply measure how far the core comes out of the sleeve and draw a line that length. For circular movements, shove the circle ruler on the core, align the dot on the sleeve with the zero of the circle ruler and shove the ring ruler against the sleeve. Then you can measure rotation. Simply align the dot again and you have a new starting point where you can measure.
Works perfectly I think. If the core did not come out enough to shove the ring on, I just put it on a bit and making sure the ring is not too wide, you can still rotate the core, the ring only needs about half a mm to go on there.

I drew complete detailed channels of 3 mm wide (where the pin goes through), but actually I found out that takes too much time, simply drawing lines for non reset areas, using arrows to point into directions where to use pressure (pushing against a wall) and such is now my preferred way.You could also use colors on parts you know are correct (and you dont need to erase them). Using other symbols and creating your own legend showing what the symbols mean can also some in handy.

It looks like it will do the job. I think the diameter of the grip on the pen holder may be too small. I'm not sure if I should make it bigger or not.

I just ordered a 3d printer. I'm new to the hobby, and completely forgot about seeing that tool in the past. Might have to try this out for one of my first prints!
