Re: Buyers and Sellers
Apparently not, bought my CE set last year for $1,200, and now someone's asking $2K.
Of course, I always seem to be selling my extras when there's less demand.

Re: Buyers and Sellers
If that's what someone is willing to pay, why not? Plus these are "supposed" to be limited sets that increase in value. Popplocks go for a ton now, etc.
Same for Handmades.

Oh.. and by the way. Have got your set ?
Edit: I just saw that you have.

Most of us actually buy the puzzles for the love of puzzling not to make money!ezamover wrote:Is there something wrong with making money ?

Re: Buyers and Sellers
Nothing wrong with making money off of a puzzle to fund other puzzle purchases. I imagine that's how some manage to keep puzzling.
To me the rarity of a puzzle is a big factor. It's nice to know that what you have is worth a lot. That the puzzle you own is unique and special because the average person just cant go out a buy it. Researching, hunting and paying lots makes the journey that much better (Albeit somewhat painful sometimes). And knowing it only goes up in value justifies putting out the initial cash in addition to the engineering and craftsmanship.
That's what it is to me at least. And I assume that's why there are 'Limited Edition' releases.

Not sure if that was directed at my post or not. I'm not saying people shouldn't invest in these puzzles, especially since the demand often far exceeds the supply. This is even more true for puzzles that are out of production. It's a free market and people should be able to set whatever prices people are willing to pay.
The only reason I mentioned that I wasn't increasing my price above retail was to give an idea of my asking price to prospective buyers.
