Is the pin made of the same material as the casing?

FYI.

Sleeve is 6082 Aluminum while the shaft is Brass. The pins are 303/304 Stainless Steel as is the draw.

The plating on the shaft must be nickel or a nickel alloy, right? Something's slightly ferromagnetic. The pins are a little bit ferromagnetic too. The draw is only magnetic on the larger diameter, not the smaller diameter or the ends. Maybe a little bit of the shaft's plating transfers to the draw where they are in contact?

(I was trying to find my lost pin using a strong magnet. Alas, no luck with that. Of course if it's really caught in a Tholian web as I suspect, a magnet wouldn't help...)

Yep I watched that episode too ... At the same time I was having a go at my sisters spirograph

Without a tractor beam you have no chance in recovering it :?

(Platting is Nickel by the way ;) )

There have been many technological advances since then, I am sure there are other options that are readily available.

I've tried freezing, gently tapping the puzzle, and allowing it to stay upside down overnight and it still won't open. I'm located in Canada, where can I ship it for repairs?

Thanks

I just got the dots to align on my blue as well. I have turned it upside down (so the Revomaze label is facing down) and tapped the puzzle but nothing. I can still turn the inner shaft towards me, but that feels like a reset. Rather not reset it just after I aligned the dots.

I don't want to beat this thing too hard. I have hit it as hard as I have seen in the one or two YouTube videos I have seen.

Suggestions...?

EDIT: Never mind, sorry. I found that if I held just the outer sleeve and then did the taping, came right out!
