Where have you not been allowed to take your ReVoMaze?

I am interested to see where others have been refused entry because of their ReVoMaze or have had the ReVoMaze denied entry - aka held at the counter - while they were inside.

I ask, because today, I went to the local Federal District Courthouse, had my ReVoMaze on me, entered, got to security, put the maze on the tray along with my briefcase, computer, phone, keys, blood of my first child, etc ... and everything got through, except the maze. The response? "Sir, what is this?" "It's a puzzle." "What is the objective?" "To remove the center." "Then remove the center for us." "But, I don't know the solution yet." "Sir, it has a removable center, it is obviously hollow to some extent, and the x-ray shows it as being just a black, shielded cylinder, unless you can open it and show us what is inside it, then you cannot bring it in." "Oh...." I walked back to the office, dropped it in my desk, went back to the courthouse, and entered unhindered.

Mind you, I tried to get them to let me take a peak at the x-ray ;), but they wouldnt' let me, plus swore it was just a solid black cylinder anyway.

-- So, where have you been denied entry? And has yours ever been x-rayed and shown more than just a black emptiness? ;)

PS: Edited because I missed the letter "y" on your and it came out as your ...

Funny you should say that; I'm wanting badly to bring mine on a plane for a upcoming trip. Guessing that isn't going to be a good idea........ Would hate to have it confiscated. Has anyone made it through airport security with one of these carried on? They do look a little "pipe bomb meets grenade-ish" :)

  Sorry!

The only thing is to send them to our website where they can see one being made  :|

Jokes apart - in todays high security you may have to leave them at home - Unless you can open it in under a minute

However The plastic should be OK! 8-)

So far - all destinations have been reached by Air Mail.

I have taken all my metal puzzles through airport security and i get stopped every time if its a carry on and my bag arrives with one of those cute little TSA: YOU GOT INSPECTED sheets and my nicely ironed clothes in a ball every time i check it.

I've never been denied, but it is a pain in the butt. besides theres enough movement and bumpyness on an airplane, theres no reason to take this with you. a smooth flight isnt smooth at all when something requiring this much dextarity is on the line.

Fair point Rabbit. Mainly my goal is to fiddle with it when i get to my destination. I suspect checking it is my best option....

Chris, are we supposed to bring our own revomazes to the live event to allow you to verify that everyone opened their revomazes 'correctly' ?
(We know the event will be played with 'new' revomazes).

If so, we (i.e. those who fly in) better transport them in opened state...

We will be writing to all the people coming and you have made an excellent point.

I would suggest they are open so they can be inspected.

Chris

Have them open and in a plastic bag. Place them in the crate not contained in something else. And if you do them in checked luggage, just put them in a plastic bag already open. I would say anything small and removable (e.g., the pin) should be taken in your carry on in a bag where you won't lose it.
