Hi all,

I have been in touch with nos6074 regarding the fabrication/production of clear sleeves. In addition to this i stumbled upon tinted/colored acrylic and thought that it would be fitting to have an appropriately colored and translucent sleeve. The benefit of matching the maze core and still being able to see what is going on inside.

My question to all is what kind of interest would there be for such a colored/tinted sleeve in addition to clear sleeves.

If you could PM me with your interest I plan on putting an excel spreadsheet together to gauge how much interest there is in both the colored and/or tinted sleeve. this information will be used to help get cost information from local machine shops on doing 1 large batch since the colored and clear acrylics could be done in one batch.

I am planning to make a batch of colored/tinted for myself so i hope to have photos of the final product at some point.

I am not actively doing this for profit and as such it is not at the top of my priority list, and ultimately it may prove to be more costly than it's worth.

To end, I want to reiterate that i am NOT asking for orders but asking to gather data so i can estimate the interest in the colored/clear sleeve for costing purposes.

Send me a PM with what color/clear sleeve and how many of each you would be interested in and i will put your username and quantity's in my spreadsheet...please don't expect a response since it will likely be very time consuming to respond to all...if you see the message was read, then i put your info down.

I modified the original photo. There were color options that no one has chosen so i removed them from the potential options. Added a rendering of a clear sleeve.

Also, while you are at it, can you look into the possibilities of them producing a clear casing for the R2 puzzles?

I have put that thought in the back of my mind...however I'll need to get a hold of my R2 to get an idea of what the casing looks like and what will need machining...probably a little more complex that the R1's

I will post something when the time is appropriate for them. First things first with the R1's.

From my initial findings i have determined that I could make one clear sleeve for $70 and the colored for $80.

$50 of this price is associated with machining of the pieces. There are a few other places I'm waiting to hear back from regarding these, but the other few i have heard from are around this price.

The difference includes costs for materials (acrylic material, spring, screw) and to cover some cost for me buffing cleaning up and any other costs associated with the making of these. While I'm interested in helping get some of these made, I would not be looking to make these at a loss on my end.

(Note:The revo pins are pretty specific so I did not look in depth at pricing out a pin for these. i figured for those looking to use these sleeves, they probably have the pins for their maze already...and the springs for that matter, but a spring that stays in the hole would be more convienient.)


From what i found in previous posts I believe TheJuggler was charging somewhere around $60 for them.

To reiterate, I am NOT asking for orders...just looking for feedback and discussion on the cost. The prices above are a very rough estimate at this point. This may go up or down depending on what the other quotes come in at and negotiation i can do.

nos6074 is also doing some digging and pricing to see what he can find.

If it appears this cost is what people would be willing to pay, then i will work on making a few to see if any other hidden costs come in or if it appears to be too much work than it's worth. TheJuggler has already expressed to me that the polishing can be difficult and it took him significantly longer to do so than to machine them.

So, for those seriously interested is this a cost they would be willing to incur to get clear or colored sleeves?

Springs will need to be included, since they are glued into the official Revo sleeves. Pins can be reused from your own maze, so should not be included. (I included springs at one cost, without at another, and I did not include pins at all).

Didn't the originals have a removal pin with a screw holding it in place?
