Revo-RSI! (repetitive strain injury)

Post by dignut »

I have a numb thumb! And I'm a newbie - I've only solved a Blue so far.

What else can I expect?

Well by the time I'd finished Bronze (Having done Blue, Green and Bronze inside 3 weeks) I had some pretty good callus' on my fingers which helped. My finger strength had improved so I could work much longer on the extreme's (since they are heavy and require reasonable strength to use for extended periods).

By the time I had finished Silver, I had thrown away any pre-conceptions I had about how Evil a tiny puzzle could be, or just how clever a solution was.

My mapping skills had improved such that my map is very nearly identical to the actual core.

So that's the good ... the bad ...

Well, lots of frustration, and cursing the inventor. And the feeling that it will not beat you ... many other people have opened it, so I must be able to as well. After all how difficult could it be ;)

I solved 7 revomazes in 30 Days, and I am now having serious pain in my knuckles, especially my index fingers on each hand. I have been icing my hands daily and that seems to help. Remember when you're revomazing to map out the walls and corners really well so you know when to apply torque and when to relax. That will really help.

Also take breaks. The addiction is impossible to kick so don't even try. just give in.

Now I just gotta solve red and gold! :D
