I think for me the big attraction of the revomaze is being able to progress.

What I mean by that is that there are some puzzles out there that unless you know the trick or stumble across the solution by chance you can stay for days/weeks/months stuck at one spot.

With this I can steadily make progress, even if its one more move to memorize. I have a sense of acheivment and moving forward.

What do you guys think is the reason that you find it addictive ?

I agree, the steady progression gives a small amount of satisfaction for each move which then sums up. The added challenge of remembering all these moves gives another high. The look and feel of the puzzle also adds to the overall experience. Then just add the fact that you can provide your own personal reward for friends that solve it ie. a 1 dollar bill(s) and/or a list of people who has solved it etc.

totally agree ymir. i started getting irritated after about 2 hours, on my lack of ability to get past what i named the obliete of insanity. i later learned that this was chris' little "ha ha, gotcha" trick. i put the puzzle aside for the night and came back still excited the next day and solved the puzzle.

i admit, as much as that little obliete drove me crazy, it was that, that made the puzzle worth the challenge. but knowing i was making progress, even if it was in the wrong direction, excited me.
