Made it through Seattle airport. Put it in original box and kept it out of luggage in separate bin. The screener looked at it on the screen for a little while. Talked on his radio. Opened the box. Asked what it was and what does it do and let me go with no further search. Had backup plan. Brought along a prepaid priority mail envelope in case I had to mail it back home to myself. Also have postage for the return trip. I could see it on the screen but from back aways. Looked like you think it would. Can see the inner shaft but to far away the see if there was any more detail. Not planning on pulling it out in the airport or on the plane. Don't want to get tackled.

Just got back from Barcelona and had a bit of fun on the way out of East Midlands Airport with my Revos.

I bought a set of Extremes for my Dad and had them in my hand luggage. Lady scanning baggage was not happy and here's how it went:
Bag Lady "You're not taking them onboard!"
Me "Why not?"
Bag Lady "I don't like the look of them!"
Me "They are toys!"
Bag Lady "I don't care - I don't like the look of them"
Me (angry) "There's £80 worth here and they are solid plastic apart from a little pin. I'm not leaving them!"
Head of Security "Would you follow me please sir"
Me (under my breath) "Oh s**t, rubber glove time!"

To be honest that was as bad as the story gets. Security bloke scanned them again, asked me to demonstrate how they worked (I was tempted to give him the red and say "You tell me!" - Thought better of that though)

He was really intrigued and let me take them but advised it was not the best item to take as hand luggage for the future.

I hope this is a warning to one and all travelling in Europe. Either check them in main luggage or post them!

At least Bag Lady didn't get a really good Christmas present!!!

Great story, sounds like more B@11$ then bash but you made it.

Edited to explain what "bash" is:
Bash is the substanse used to back up a bold statement, e.g. rules, regs, intructions, something like para 6 part 2 of blah de blah states..... well played.

Has anyone here tried to travel via airplane with their RevoMaze in the U.S. this month or in the last few weeks? I am about to head to Miami, Florida for a conference and want to play with it on the plane, but am worried about the response ;).

Owning only plastic Revos, I have not experienced anything similar.
However, the metal ones, due to their size, weight and look, should be nicknamed: PUZZLE GRENADES!

Made it through Seattle airport and St Louis over new years as a carry on. Put it in original box and kept it out of luggage in separate bin. At both places the screener looked at it on the screen for a little while. Talked on his radio. Opened the box. Plated with it. Asked what it was and what does it do and let me go with no further search of my person or baggage. I had a backup plan. I brought along a prepaid priority mail envelope in case I had to mail it back home to myself. Also had postage for the return trip. I could see it on the screen but from back aways. Looked like you think it would. Can see the inner shaft but to far away the see if there was any more detail. Didn't pull it out in the airport but did on the plane. No one tackled me. I was working on the bronze at the time so I tried not to swear or look too frustrated.

I have decided to risk it. At the worst I am deprived until the Silver v2 shows up.

Hey Juggler, I just saw that you travel to Scotland with your Revomazes and rather than hijacking your post, I thought I'd revive this one. Do you have any issues travelling with them?

I'm heading to Fiji soon and I'm paranoid about whether I should take my Revos with me or not, especially my Red 7 which I wouldn't be able to replace.
