By looking at the size comparison, I think it's too small for Neil to make a clear sleeve for unless he makes some special small tools and a special chuck for his lathe, which I'm guessing he'll opt against.

It's easy enough to make .... (but I'm not saying that I'd start doing so) ... I have a long list of orders, and many other projects to move onto so once I complete the orders I've received up to now ... I'm done and moving onto something else... in wood ... that might be a puzzle box.

If the diameter of the coin in that picture is 21.4mm then the outside diameter of the sleeve looks like 11/16". Can that be right? That would make the total length 1 1/4".

How does this compare to the ones Mark has made? His 2/5 replica is 0.4 scale. This mini is looking like 0.3 scale. Sure hope they're functional and not just a pretty key fob.

I think this is the fully functional blue that Chris made, in metal, and yes, it's smaller than Mark's ones ... (think it turned up at an MPP with aforesaid maker)

Hopefully we'll get to see it (again!) at the MPP Chris plans to attend with the R2s (unless they are released before) :D

Certainly not surprised that he would use the Blue maze. Perhaps he can adapt some of his other designs or perhaps new ones.

I can already imagine how hard it'll be if you drop a pin. As it is now I've lost a buch of the normal size pins.

Maybe it was obvious to those familiar with UK coins, but I was amused to realize that the coin in the picture has seven sides. :)

Now that all the machining is going to be done in house (or garage as the case might be), the mini might be the future of the R1 series. I imagine the machines to make the mini could be quite a bit smaller than for the standard size R1's. I don't see why the static mazes and the Bronze and Orange couldn't be made at this size. Just thinking out loud.
