I'd be interested Revo, although I thought carbon fiber was a bit expensive - seems like it would be difficult to keep it under 10$?

That's the beauty of living in SoCal my friend. I found a weaver that sells direct. That should actually keep the price down to almost $5 a stand. $5 doesn't take into account making a mold, which i will need to do, nor does it take into account personal time. But this is about Revo's, not making money. If prototyping and molding cost me $250 or so, dividing that up among 60 stands, $10 is a practical goal i think. While it doesn't cover all the expenses on my list, 60 stands is really only enough for 6-12 people. We'll consider them group one. From group 2 and beyond the molds would be paid for so those groups would cover the additional cost of tools and supplies. Beyond that, might be able to make a dollar or two per stand which will cover the set up expenses of Series 2 stands so that I can offer them at an even better price.

Of course the vertical stands are still going to be the tricky part. I'm worried about air bubbles & discoloration, unless I go acrylic. In which case I have to worry about cost (acrylic is crazy expensive) and connecting acrylic to carbon.

So in short, i'll need to experiment, but if there is interest, then i'll invest the money to get us all something we want and like.

I was playing around with the idea of a carbon fibre stand. I made a mould and am about to make my first one. Sadly I would not have anywhere near the time required to make more than 2 or 3.

Fabregas... i'm wondering, would you like to collaborate? i could supply North America and you could handle take care of Europe. I figure once i get set up i could knock out 1 a night most evenings. there for i could probably fill an order once a week. I think there is certainly interest. when you get yours done, will you post a picture?

personally i feel there is enough interest to make it worth my time. I know Fabregas485 has at least a little experience in the field, so i'm waiting to see his photos. if i think i can pull it off after that, then i'll buy the materials. its really tempting to just buy 'em now! i just want to work with CF so bad. i'm like 15 years behind, but i've really caught the CF bug.
