About the design of the sleeve, i don't like any two coloured version.
I'd prefer either the standard black sleeve or some frosted look like MintSE.

Does it have to actually be black? What about white? We never got the originally planned limited edition Yellow either so that color would work for this.

I definitely think Chris should get one!
I'm fan of the black with silver lines and nickel core. And BKXX.
I'm collecting unplated cores! Make me an offer if you are looking to part with any. Always looking for a black and a purple, too :?

Make the sleeve out of 2024T6 aluminum (Hardness, Rockwell A, 50.5). Shot peen it, then cut the grooves, smooth, then anodize it black.. Sweet, with a texture. The aluminum is not to soft, you can use T3 if it is to hard to machine and it will naturally age to T6 hardness. KIRK

Dorothea, what about a gold plated core?
stet, you cannot anodize white, yellow is orange or gold.
I think it should be as mostly black, what about everyone else?
greenwolf86, thanks!!

I think I missed out, but for the record, I'd want shiny black sleeve with gold stripes and the unplated "gold" core.

I haven't had a chance to use a brass core yet, I'll be able to give an an opinion after the salmon arrives, but won't the gold playing wear away with use?

The gold will wear which is why I stated above that gold is best for extra display only copies (I have a few). Raw brass is OK but needs maintenance cleaning. Nickle plating is the best if you intend to play with it.
