It does pose an interesting question over the purple though. Given that for Blue, 3 hours is not out of the question for the first opening, what does it mean for the purple? Clearly a silver level puzzle of 40+ hours ... well it's clear that isn't going to happen! (Chris himself states it's a one night event, including dinner then the competition).

Clearly a contest where 5 people sit for 3+ hours twiddling their draw, and scribbling notes with the supplied paper and pencil is not going to be too exiting for those watching, so does this mean the purple will be at a lower skill level? I have no doubt Chris already has it designed and tested ... he just strikes me as the sort of person to have this all worked out!

I love the idea of a live final, if for nothing else, just to meet some of the people here on the forums and to meet Chris. By all counts it should be a good night.

I say we show up with a battery of terrible sci-fi movies. The worse the movie, the better the drinking game while we wait for the purple to open.

I suggest we start with The Core as it is one of the worst movies ever produced (yet syfy still took up the challenge to remake it) and bills Hilary Swank as the hot chick. From there, we can enjoy several of the many fruits from Stephen Baldwin's illustrious career and finish it up with the Evil Dead franchise. I will, however, require no fewer than two movies from The Cube trilogy to get us in the mood for puzzle solving. I vote for the original and aught.

Greatest movies ever made. I distinctly remember the time I first saw Tremors. It was a life-changing event.
