Are we going to be getting any new brain teasers? I could do with one to while away the long night shifts!

Why not give brainteaser 2.4 another go in the mean time, it remains unsolved...

How soon is soon?

The below one is over half a year old now, time for another segment of the solution?
Brain Teaser 2.4
1 + 3 = 3
2 + 4 = 8
3 + 5 = ?
alarm

I think the puzzle is one line too short, so there might be several solutions, depending on how you read/interpret it.

My "obvious" guess on the teaser is 15, which HotRodLincoln already suggested.
I can't see what the hint has to do with it though :(.

That's how I've felt for most of them ;) And I've found many alternate answers that fit some of them and I thought for sure I had the answer. Just keep at it and you'll eventually get there (I haven't solved this one so there are no buried hints in the post)

It's two examples and a third one to answer, no complex dependencies. There are three clue words in my previous post (alarm is one of them, the others are after the comma).
Another example to help you reduce the possibilities if you have many, or to confirm the solution after you see the clue words :
4 + 6 = 8
