Thanks for finding the leader boards! I see that they would have to populate the Gold ones but that shouldn’t be too difficult. I’m sure they have a pretty good idea of who solved it and in which order.

Here’s how I would do the competition:

I would perform 10 drawings, one for each of the series puzzles in each region. Is there any events coming up where RevoMazes will be featured? I know that in the past Chris has been at the Gadget Show and such. Maybe this can be done as a simple draw the names out of a hat kind of thing, live at one of these shows/events.

I assume that there are some who have spots in the leader boards and reserve lists who don’t bother coming here anymore. They have fallen off the face of the Earth. These are people who also would not be registering for the lottery drawing since they would never find out about it. My suggestion is to ask those of us who are on the leader boards and/or reserve lists to register for the drawings. When the registration deadline is reached anyone who didn’t register loses their spot and it can be filled by the reserve list in order. Kind of like what would have happened with the live competitions.

Then you draw the names, starting with the Blue and going towards the Gold. Make it a rule that someone can only win 1 Purple so if they win an earlier puzzle and their name gets drawn again for a later one it is discarded and another draw is performed. If you are in one of the Blue drawings you would have a 1/40 chance of winning. If you in the Gold you would have a 1/5 or even better if someone in that list of 5 wins a Purple with another drawing.

I think this would be fair to those who earned spots in the leader boards.

Just for the record, given the new system compared to the system you proposed, you actually have a higher chance of winning with the new system. In your system you have roughly a 10% chance of winning one (assuming you were not one of the first 5 to open gold). With the new one you have a 30% chance per round to either continue on or win. If you were one of the first to open gold the two would be a tie.

There is a flaw with your logic. By opening up the competition/lottery to everyone there is a significantly larger number of people who may win so my odds (and everyone else in the leader boards) have gone down quite a lot.

As someone who has only started revoing recently, im thrilled at the chance of winning 1.

If the shoe was on the other foot... id be more inclined to the thinking of some of the long time revoers.

I think the main thing is that the people that do get them appreciate what their getting and it doesnt just go sitting on a shelf getting dusty and unused.

If I win, im gonna call her Sheila... and we will be best friends forever

Well at least the way I understand the lottery system, assuming 150 people enter with 7 entries per person, you would still have a better odd of winning in this system. Once there are more entries or more tickets per entry then yes it would go down, but you would be surprised how little. Just saying if you do the math out your 15 tickets provides you a pretty strong favor.
