question for those who have opened the gold

Post by adamwest »

What do you think of the gold, as puzzle. You can rate in on a given scale or write out what you think of it. No details pleae but everyone who has opened already knows the first rule of revoclub.

I would have liked it a lot as a mechanical puzzle, if the ring code had been engraved on the shaft.
The mechanism inside is impressive, discovering how to (really) navigate it was fun.

I have to agree. I really enjoyed mapping the mechanism, paths and traps on the gold. The algorithm was not so fun though. If the ring code had been on the shaft, as Louis said, or if the clues were less vague then I may have enjoyed it (the code element of the puzzle) more.

Once you have the code the gold just becomes another revo, but a really cool one.

Yup! 5 so far. They've been posting in the registered section blanked photos of their open golds. Inspiring really!

Progress on RevoGold (or the lack thereof) is discussed in the 'gold registered' forum, accessible to all who have registered their RevoGold.
Revomaster should be posting something on (hopefully the public part of) the forum today. And he should open up the 'gold opened' forum for the lucky few.

Well, congratulations! Seems like I have overestimated the Gold.
Any news on the series code? Has the first solver came along too?

The series code has not been solved as none of the gold maps have been released.
Chris changed the rules in that not only do you need to solve the gold and answer the 5 code challenges,
but you also need to fully explain the solution to the algorithm.

He's been saying you have to explain it for some time . . .
