Chris Pitt posted some interesting information on the upcoming Gold Revomaze in the General Handmade Limited edition Forum today.

Since he has told us the number of parts in the Silver, why not the Gold too. It's not like it's going to help open the Gold. More likely the news will raise anxiety levels to a new all-time high and make it even harder to open the Gold. :o

Could be... But that total might include the Green and Silver parts as well, as there are a number of these being made for the last ever batch of each. They are still on pre-order status.

Chris has also implied that the Gold design is less complex than the Silver:

Over complicating the design to add more twists can be at a cost (as in this case) - so while the Gold has been designed - it follows a more simpler operation but requires much more time to complete.

Good point. Since this is a new company making revomazes the total number of parts might represent the parts for all mazes. Still sounds kind of high though.

plus each gold is unique, so there is no guarantee that all the pieces are the same in each puzzle...

For those that pre-ordered the Gold and are getting e-mail updates this topic is now moot.

The answer is: a lot . . . i.e., 21.
