It may have been dropped before I got it, but I never dropped it. I noticed there was something wrong pretty much immediately . I could barely turn it and when I registered I let Chris know. I also just sent him an email asking about replacement pins. :)

I thought it was the spring for a while because I couldn't travel up hills very well at all. As for external damage, my green case is totally fine and the shaft is great as well. Just excessive oil on the tracks.

Now that I've seen the maze I have no idea how I got through. Especially with the bent pin. I feel like I had to be doing everything just a little off, because of it. It also explains a lot for why I had such a hard time getting it apart. There was definitely a lot of luck that went into getting it open.

Just opened my bronze to find another bent pin. Not nearly as bad. The shadow kind of makes it hard to see and thankfully it's not as bad as my green. My bronze operated just great. It wasn't as smooth as my blue, but I figured they're two different beasts. So yeah, I'm guessing my package with my green and bronze were dropped at some point in shipping. Green definitely got the worst of it though.

Hmm quite possible. I'd rather blame USPS. They do a terrible job of tracking registered packages.

if both your pins are the same length, use the unbent pin as the one that travels the maze... (assuming only one has issues...)

I'd be very surprised if the pins could be bent like that whilst packaged. I would think you would need to drop it shaft first onto a hard surface to do that. A packaged puzzle would take any force onto the sleeve, at least with them packaged the way I have received them.

That's another good point. I can't remember, but I think there was bubble wrap on them. The outer cases are pristine and so are the inner shafts so I doubt they were dropped. It would also be pretty ridiculous if someone in customs dropped BOTH of them. One maybe, but not both. You'd have to be a huge butterfingers.

Got my new pins today. It's like a completely different puzzle.

The paths aren't as tight and I can actually feel the edges. It's a miracle I got the green and bronze open the first time. So hooray!!! :D

Somehow i have managed it too to bend a pin. :(
Trys do unbend are not successfull as the pin is to "soft" or short for the needed force.

Are you able to navigate the maze at all? or is it just difficult? Have you opened this puzzle before?
