Thought I was making good progress when it locked up tighter than a drum.
The white ends of the shaft are equal distance out of the sleeve inotherwords
at the normal start position, however I can't move the shaft at all. No pushing
or pulling or rotating will budge it. Just like the pin has dropped into a hole?
I have emailed Chris and Nicole with no response. Has anyone else encountered
this problem? Help !!!

I have had something like that before, but a light tap and 1/2 hour in the freezer worked for me. Can't try it right now as I have loaned the black to someone.

Thanks, I'll try it, however I thought the "freezer thing" was for the extremes(metal).
Didn't know that it would help on the obsessions (plastic). I did try the tapping to no avail.

Thats what I though. There is no harm in trying though.

If that does not work make sure you pm chris.

My v2 black (and bronze) arrived on Saturday. Had a bit of a play with both but I'm really struggling to make much progress on this black one.. Maybe I shouldn't have skipped the green. :(

You'll be fine ;)

Just stick with it as there's a fair departure from blue, and green only adds one other item into the mix but that's not really essential for the Black ;)

The very start of the black v2 is quite confusing when i 1st started playing with it i was like what the hell is going on in there but then i took my time and mapped everything i found and was soon making some speedy progress (and i had only solved the black v1 obs at this point) so dont worry too much about missing the green the black v2 is still very solveable!

I can get past the "start" bit without too many problems (reminds me of the hard part of the blue) but I'm currently stuck at a part which seems to be a dead end (with some nearby traps). I guess mapping could help me out but I really want to avoid that as I find mapping very boring..

I think i know what part you are refering to and i had trouble at that point and i quite enjoy the mapping side so i had a pretty decent working map but i have to say that mapping didnt help all that much at that point, what helped was some freindly encouragement from a few fellow revoers with the following advice:

Explore everything but take your time doing it!

The encouragement and words of advice are very much appreciated. I will keep working at this (no way I'm going to give up because these things are just way too addictive!), so hopefully I'll arrive at some solution in the near future.
