I'd say eventually it will be impossible to map everything in your head. That or it would be extremely difficult and tedious. If you have solved it once you know what to look for so a paper map is just a bonus.

Seems like solid advice to me..

no doubt, mapping on paper is great advice, and when i was starting with blue, i thought i would never be able to map, so i didnt even try. then i realized i was having problems without mapping so i tried the blue on paper, and failed at the mapping. Then i just did it in my head and the calculations came out perfectly, but also alot of luck was involved. as for green, i mapped that thing out based on using reference points, and the traps, and the path itself. but i did it all in my head. and calculated it all out. this is exactly what i am doing with the balck, so im doin pretty well for now, but i know no way i will be able to do the gold or handmade liek this

I haven't finished it yet, but is it just me or does the map for the Black look a little bit more -let's say- 'interesting' that the previous ones.

Oooooooooh, yeeeessssssss...(in the voice of a bulldog, for best effect!)

Here's a fun game you can play - compare your map to the one in the open group (once you're finished, of course) - it's always good for a laugh!

Looks like it's my turn to struggle with the black.
I've made one move and it's already different from the other ones =[

Time to start my map, and then spend the next 4 months complaining about how I don't have any time to complete it and can't figure out the tricks any way =p

Please, please please PLEASE please take our advice and map it as well as you possibly can it might do more than help you solve it! Too many people have just blatantly and shamelessly ignored our advice and are sure to missed half the fun of the black!
