Wired Magazine (SPOILER ALERT)

Post by Rachel K »

Hi All,

There has recently been a article in the Wired magazine which is going to be/already is circulating. It does show a photo of an exploded view of the puzzle which some may view as giving out a spoiler.

People do not need to see the photo if they do not want to however, the idea is to solve the puzzle, which as we know is easier said than done. The puzzle in the Wired magazine will not be the final Jupiter version but is just a prototype to work the engineering out.

We have always recognized the Rubix Cube as being one of the greatest puzzles made and from our point of view has the advantage of being visual. The puzzle however is still an immense challenge to complete and as will the R2 be.

We hope that this will not be too much of a spoiler but our experience over the last 4 years has shown us that having a completely concealed puzzle is extremely difficult for new people to understand and hope the renewed interest in the R2 will bring our puzzles to more enthusiasts.

Any questions or concerns please contact us.

Regards,

Chris & Sophie

edit: Here's the photo of the article again. If you don't want to see it, don't reveal the spoiler.

Any idea if the article will be in all editions, or just in the UK edition. I'm not even sure there are different editions.

Wasn't that what caused all the fuss over the weekend?

Yeah, Chris / BS2K ended up moderating himself after a number of us felt that that picture was too revealing. Then the thread was completely deleted. As Chris and Sophie said above, it isn't a spoiler for any specific R2, but it did give a good picture of what the inside would be like. Even that takes away something of the mystery of opening a brand new type of puzzle.
