I am in the group that thinks that the purple revomaze is not a limited edition Revo. It was a prize for winning a contest and 17 were given away and was not an official release for purchase. Unlike the black revomaze that was a limited edition puzzle and no more will ever be produced that way the exclusivity of the puzzle remains intact. Therefore, the purple revomaze can be made on a piece by piece basis for people that want one to complete their collections. Maybe if we got up enough people for a small run of 25 or so units of the purple revomaze Chris might consider it and dig out the tooling needed to produce a few. Remember, he has to pay for his overhead and the maintenance of his new CNC machine and would welcome the infusion of some needed funds to pay for it. The program for the CNC machine has already been created and anodizing a few sleeves is an easy task. This might be a win win for Chris and the few collectors that would be ecstatic to get their hands on the elusive purple revomaze. If he set the price at lets say 400 pounds a unit, that would be 10000 pounds towards the new CNC machine Chris just bought, and the funds came without any R&D for a new maze. What do you think? I love this idea, Kirk. I would jump all over that opportunity if it came about.

Hmm, actually there was one posted on the website for 6000£ and it sold for 2000£. There are two others that sold for 2000£. It would be cool to see a loaner that people could mail around so that others could have a crack at it.
Cheers,
Shane.

Some do get loaned out. PU10 is currently on a west coast adventure to several established members of the forum :D

While I would like to have as many mazes as I can get my hands on, I would say that the prizes should not be insane. In my opinion £400 is too much, even for a rare maze, while more than this is insane.

Perhaps it would be better then to just keep them out of production, or to use tgr's suggestion of making them different from the existing editions (although I am not sure if the original owners/collectors would approve of such a solution as long as the maze is the same).
