I don't know about that. Seems to me that if only one number was different someone would have been eliminated.

Lotto numbers for the
19th round of the 4th and final Purple Lottery

9 - 15 - 16 - 19 - 31 - 36 - 37

Status Quo... Not even close to eliminating anyone.

Remember, the first lottery lasted almost 30 rounds.

Okay stats guys, what's the probability that we'll never eliminate all but one contestant?

Zero. Never is a long, long time. It'll happen eventually.

QuantumCow's analysis still holds, even though 22 numbers can't be matched by any of the three players. The game is still the same, match any one number and continue to the next round.

Right now each player has 5-6 numbers in common with the other two players.
The one with 9 numbers shares 2-3 numbers with each of the others.
The one with 12 numbers shares 3-4 numbers with each of the others.
The one with 15 numbers shares 3-4 numbers with each of the others.

As long as no two people have the same exact numbers there will be a winner. Just the fact that each person holds a different number of selections guarantees a winner eventually.

The real question is how long will this lottery last. It might end at any time. I think it'll go faster if the lotto numbers start hitting more numbers in the forties and fewer in the teens and twenties. Just a matter of time.

If you guys are sick of this continuing, just convince Chris to make 2 more puzzled and call it a day.
