If its a fair and unrigged lottery, numbers dont matter. Just pure statistics. Its like when they show the last 12 numbers at a roulette table. Thats for suckers who think it matters.

:lol: I love when people start bantering statistics and probability around :D For the record I have degrees in Engineering and Math, so I fully understand it. And yes the law of averages will come into play and probability curves will form as expected over long periods...but... we are not talking long periods, and even the UK Lottery hasn't been around long enough. The "gut feel" of hot and cold steaks is there for small runs. Just go stand around any craps table for awhile and watch the dice beat the average. Or watch roulette and see red or black come up 15+ times in a row with what should have been close to 50%. The problem is that all of that is in reverse you can base all the numbers on what has happened, but it's still a guess on the future :D and as soon as you figure it all out, it will change. In reality we're all just looking for that slight edge to victory no matter how crazy the scheme sounds.

So, good luck to all in the next round. I hope someone picks

for the record, if I had changed my numbers, this would still be going on and I'd be in the top 4 :evil:

If you had changed your numbers, in the way you currently believe you may have changed your numbers at the time you didn't change your numbers.

1 - 15 isn't so silly. Those numbers were good for all of the first lottery and some of the second lottery.

As always past performance is no indication of future performance. The first lottery went longer than expected and the probability was getting down to about 0.10 . Let's see how long the third lottery lasts.

The problem with the first lottery was that the end few had a pretty similar set of numbers. In the second lottery, there was a nice spread. A few people have changed their number for the third lottery, but nothing that dramatic. Oh, and on that point, if anyone else wants to change their numbers before the next draw, you have less that 24 hours to do so. Any such message I received after the first ball is drawn tomorrow will simply be ignored.

I donno, I think I'll stay the course and keep the same numbers. For some reason the thought of losing because I changed a number is worse then the thought of losing because I didn't change a number. I guess the rational for this is that I can blame the lotto gods if I lose with my original numbers or I can blame myself if I lose after changing my numbers.

No, all winners so far have had 15 numbers. However - link

I cant remember the number off the top of my head and I don't have the info to hand, but there are ~90 people.

I feel extra lucky now, as I would have had 'only' 9 numbers in the lottery. It looks like Adin would have had 7...
