As many as needed until there are only 3 people left and then everyone minus those 3 are entered back in again and the whole process starts again. :)

Unless there are only three (or less) people with numbers and then they each get a purple? Then everyone is back in (except the winners) and it starts over?
That is correct.

On to the next round for me. Probably my last round though. My numbers have never lasted more than 3 rounds at any other time in the last year.

Another match! Third match in the purple lottery, but thirteenth match if you count the past draws, and each time matching one.
Me like what my numbers are doing.

so what happens if it goes from say 4 people in one round, to zero people? everyone goes back to the main pool, and everything starts over?

Either that or those 4 keep advancing to the next drawing until there are 1, 2 or 3 winners. Then it starts all over again. I always felt this aspect of the rules was ambiguous.

It depends on how you interpret the part of the rules that say that if no winners are found, then only those with previous winning numbers advance. There's nothing special about the number 4. You could have 20 in a round and all 20 may not match a number. It's just less likely to happen with 20 as opposed to 4.
