Cast Cylinder is Hanayama.
Aluminium Cylinder is Wil's.

Nice choices. You'll have some fun with those that I have in your list. :)

I've just received Elk and Ring II. Not too impressed with the Ring but Elk is nice.

I agree with you there. Ring II rattles far too much and has a tendency to fall apart spontaneously. Elk is a great one though. I thought it has a pretty clever subtle solution.

Puzzle rings are supposed to fall apart spontaneously without a finger in the middle. With these oversized Hanayama rings you need a twisty to keep then in the solved state.

Well yes, to some extent. But compare the Cast Ring and the Cast Ring II, and you'll understand what I mean when I say the second falls apart too easily compared with the first.

The Ring 2 is one of a handful of Hanayama puzzles I don't own. I never was taken buy the way it looks and the luke warm reviews didn't help.

I wear an eight band puzzle ring as a wedding ring. Fortunately I can put it back together if it gets scrambled when I take it off. This sort of defeats the purpose of a wedding puzzle ring, but on the other hand I always have a puzzle with me.

We thought of doing puzzle rings. My wife had one for a long time (before marrying). However, they are much more fragile if they ever fall off. Hers fell off and was stepped on, she was demolished.

And the original idea was that the spouse who wore the ring was not supposed to know how to solve it. You leave the solution with the other spouse.

You must take your ring off too often.

At least you see the irony in knowing how to solve a puzzle ring.

In my case, I, ahem, outgrew my original wedding band and needed an alternative. With my interest in puzzles it seemed natural that I would want one. I offered to get one for my wife. When she saw what it was like she absolutely refused to wear anything like my ridiculous puzzle ring. Yeah, it hurt a bit, but that's life.

I do have to take any jewelry off when I have to scub for surgery. One day I left the ring in the pocket of my scrubs by accident and it was never found again. I replaced after a couple of years hoping it would show up or be returned. The new one was a little too big, so it waits until I can resize it.

Until then, I wear a sterling silver band that reads "vous et nul autre"

Now to stay on topic, where is the new puzzle, cast twist, being sold.
