I got cast L'oeuf a little while ago (along with helix, donuts, and G&G). I got it disassembled, but when i attempted to assemble it i noticed that part of the maze was bent badly (on the silver side). I tried to fix it because otherwise it could be impossible to assemble, and then it broke  im going to go to the puzzle shop to ask for an other hanayama instead  it was a nice puzzle but too thin in some places.. :?

That's a shame. That is my favorite Hanayama puzzle. I bought mine while on vacation in Arizona and solved it while following my wife around a mall. Good times.

I know the part you're referring to and I had heard of this happening before.

Does anyone have Cast Galaxy yet? It looks intriguing.

Well if its your favorite then buy some Jean Claude Constantin puzzles! They are n-ary too ;) (well the n-ary ones are    )
That galaxy is a new one... I must check it out in google!

Edit: just checked it out, it truly looks amazing! I even have an idea about how to disassemble it :)

You must got a used copy then. I cannot see that this kind of puzzle can "solve itself" in the package.

Hahaha you misunderstood, i didnt get it solved, i just meant that i made it get to the solved position, solved it, got it solved.. Same things :D

Anyway, i got 4 new hanayamas:laby, cylinder, plate, and u&u. Solved plate so far, the 3 others are challenging :D

With the Hanayama NEWS does it matter which side is up? I dug it out of the puzzle drawer to lend it to someone and when I tried to open it I couldn't do it initially.

Mine seems to open in only one orientation. I don't remember this being true when I first opened it. After I opened it I looked for a reason why it doesn't open in both orientations. Both pieces seem identical in form and function.

Any ideas?
