Essential Puzzles

Hello,

As a new puzzle collector (very new in fact), the scope of what is available is overwhelming. So I am reaching out to those that are far more experienced. What would you say are the" essential" (or core) puzzles for a good collection? I'm looking for the puzzles that either best represent a category of puzzle and / or the ones that best represents a certain designer.

And for fun, while you're at it, what would be the one puzzle you could not pass up if: #1 it was actually for sale, and #2 money was no object?

I hope this will become a decent discussion as it is fun to see what different people value / love in a puzzle.

Thanks all :D

Hello Piker B,

I am also new to the puzzle world ^^

I like the Pyro Fire Puzzle (~180£).
It is a great puzzle and looks really nice :)

And the Hanayama Cast Marble puzzle (15$).
