Here is Dan's reply. Not the best, I'm afraid:
Hi Andy,
Thanks for your interest in DanLock. Unfortunately it is not available at the moment.
I will put you on the waiting list but take into account that it will take long time.
All the best,
Dan

And if you want to know why it will take a very long time, go search my blog for the reason. I talked with Dan directly on one of my trips to Israel, and he filled me in on the issues.

I finally cashed in my birthday gift card for Puzzle Master. I thought I'd try something out of the ordinary for me. A few of these items look like toys for children, but I'll give them a try. Included are a few items by Oskar van Deventer which I hope live up to expectation based on his Hanayama puzzles. The wood puzzle is by JC Constantine called "C'est la Vie!" Anyone have any of these?

I have the Perplexus, the Planets and Cast Chain, all 3 nice puzzles. Can you tell about the Smart Egg, I hesitate buying one of those, but I think they are very easy? or not?

The smart egg... Well, you get what you paid for. And I didn't pay very much. It feels cheap. The rod is very thin plastic. The goal is to put the rod in the top of the egg, and follow a maze of paths and holes until the rod comes out the bottom. I solved it in about 10 seconds because there are no dead ends or wrong paths. I like mazes that come in unique shapes, but this doesn't challenge. I'll leave it on display, or maybe give it to a young person who likes puzzles.
The perplexus is surprisingly addictive!

The perplexus is one of my favorite maze puzzles!
And also, if you like the Constantin puzzle you bought, buy some of his n-ary puzzpes! They are very fun and long (the shortest is around 20 mins to solve and get it back to the start- if you remember the pattern that is!) . They are super fragile though. Veery fragile, if you buy them, keep them at a top shelf or something so your child wont be able to reach it (when he will be able to

No Smart Eggs for me then, I like my puzzles to be a bit challenging.

It's a shame that the Smart Eggs were reproduced without the original moving internal mechanisms. Many of the original designs are far from trivial to solve.
