Thanks AFKAN,

Next time, if there's a next time, I will sit down and run though an unboxing in my mind before hitting the record button! Want to do it justice! ;)

Useful?? I think they are more for aesthetics than anything else. Plus, it gives it something to rest on verses just metal to whatever it's sitting on.
If you don't like them, I'm sure taking them off wouldn't cause any puzzle problems. :)
But I would agree that whatever the adhesive is on these particular rubber feet, is transferring to the puzzle. I'm sure with a little goo-be-gone it would come right off.

The rubber feet are there just to top the base getting scratched, without the feet it is very easy to damage the base if the surface it's resting on isn't completely clean - the smallest piece of grit can mess up the finish.

I'm trying to find some clear rubber feet of the same size that do not slide like the current ones, as I'm not happy with them as they are.

For future productions maybe it would be worth considering adding holes into the base plate and using the rubber plug style of feet rather than adhesive ones.

Unintentional opening

Post by darenwhitaker »

So I was showing a friend the new Pyro puzzle today.
He's fidgeting with it as we are talking and he asks how far I had gotten on it.
While I pull out the crypto clues and start to explain to him that I really haven't played with it because I was still working on the solving the clues, he says "Uh oh".
At this point, I'm looking at the clues to show them to him.
(I won't say to much detail as to not give to much away)
I look up and he's like "should this have happened??"
:o
I'm shocked! "Put it back together" I tell him, but he can't figure it out, so he hands it to me and I'm able to get it back together without really looking at anything.

Bahhhhhh, wondering if I should continue with figuring out the clues, or just dive in!!! :?

What a fun puzzle this was. I just had an excellent quiet Friday evening to hash this out and i really enjoyed the whole experience. I only decoded two of the ciphers but I'll spend some more time to figure them all out later and really get a better understanding of all the inner workings while I wait for the rest of the series to roll out.
