Crude, but it works!
Great. I'm not sure about ironing either, as I think some cards are plastic coated
I'll try the "book press technique"..

If you wanted to 'iron them flat' put them inside a tea towel, then iron on a low heat.

Did any keen eyed puzzlers notice the mistake I made on this card?

It has been rectified now though... ;)

I see it now...the wider loop on the right folded slightly differently ;)

That's the one! I've changed it now so the fold looks just as impossible as the others. :D

Over the last week I created several "impossible folded cards", mostly the ones shown in this thread.
I found a few more pictures in the Slocum collection (online Lilly library), and created some of those too.
(Either that library database is a little mixed up or my browser has an other reason not to load the pictures on the pages behind the hyperlinks in this page:)

Does anyone have a useful link to more online examples, and/or to more background information about the cards and their designers?
I would like to read more about these and try to 'solve' more of these cards.
Especially the numbers 22718 and 22720 from the above link are intriguing to me, as they appear much more impossible than most others...

(yes I tried posting a picture, but that won't work from an iDevice)

Thanks for that link, it shows some more nice examples.
I am surprised (or glad) that the 'really impossible ones' are not on that page.
The Olympic rings (from Allards blog) are also still on my mind, but not yet on my table...
