Da Vinci Code Cryptex

Post by AndrusyszynPM »

I found an excellent supply of these at a store during lunch today. Kind nice, rather heavy cast metal but easily give up the answer because of the slip in the parts.

Da Vinci Code Cryptex

They aren't worth what people are charging on Amazon but if you can't find them for cheap in your area let me know and I'll go buy some more and send it to you in return for another puzzle. P.S. it comes with the DVD not with a wooden box.

That's a nice one. I won one from Google. Lame thing is that only the last three letters actually worked in the Google version.

That sucks, why make all the rings if you can't use them.

Kind of what I thought. They spin, but the central shaft does not key through them, so they are useless.

Did some more research. The one I have is only just 4 inches across. I think the one pictured with the box in the link is slightly bigger, 6 inches wide. Either way all the rings on mine work just fine and I'm trying to decide on my favorite 5 letter word to reprogram it with.

Revos

Or on mine I just tell people that the code is easy, and they for some reason are never able to get it .. I think they just do not know how to spell.

I really love those from Cryptex.org but i cant reason myself to spend $250 on one. I mean it really isnt a puzzle. its a hand held, shelf sitting, safe. looks pretty though.
