Re: Wil Strijbos!!!
My box from Wil arrived yesterday. So I have both Aluminium burrs, an Aluminium Cylander and a free puzzle Wil threw in as well. Add that to the cross I already have and it's not a bad set!
Wil does excellent work, and all his pieces are excellent.

Re: Wil Strijbos!!!
Has anybody else bought a 'cricket box' from Wil?
I wrote to Wil saying I don't really think they're my thing. One thing I have learnt is anything Wil offers is a good call, so I decided to order one. Wil said leave it to me and I'll send you one that is not easy to find the solution to open. The box he sent is nothing other than perfectly made and a beautiful piece to handle. I am going to order another one but Wil is low on stock and waiting for some more to arrive.
These are not so much puzzles but very nice objects.

I played with quite a few of the cricket boxes during my visit to Wil early May.
They are very nice pieces of craftsmanship indeed, both the decorations and the opening mechanisms are made with extremely accurate details. The combination of their appearance, handcrafted details, relatively simple opening mechanisms, and background story about crickets, makes them great objects to leave on a table to attract attention of unwary visitors.
As puzzles however they are not my thing, as I prefer a real challenge with more moves to open. The puzzle part of them is comparable with Karakuri small boxes: only a few moves, but well hidden to the (untrained) eye.
This is why I enjoy visiting other puzzlers and the MPP so much, I get to discover more new puzzles than I could ever buy for myself, and any puzzle that I really like goes on my wish list (or on my build list).

Re: Wil Strijbos!!!
Does anyone know if the aluminum cross is still available? I'd love to give it a go. Also, could anyone send me information as to how I could get on his mailing list.
Edit: Thanks guys!
