Value is in the eye of the beholder but I would not consider them puzzles at all. Just objects with a twist really.

They are nice works though
"Worth it"? That's always up to you. I have all of them, and am happy to own them, picking them up just to appreciate the exacting and beautiful appearance and craftsmanship. There is a trick to opening each one, but without risking a spoiler I can say that it's the obvious one.

That all said, I am glad I bought them when I had more disposable funds! If I had to face the question now, especially having them and physically experiencing just what exactly they are, and are not, I might very easily decide NOT to purchase them. They are VERY pricey for what you get, and you can buy one or two great puzzles for what all six cost...

Just finished my Revenge Lock/The Wanderer experience.

It's a great puzzle and not only really fun to take apart. And, unlike what I read on the forum, the reassembly is a beautiful process as well.

@mrmkaufman

Thank you. I figured the same but wanted to get users’ experiences.

I’m going to get the Wanderer now and hope Wil has a Lotus left. :)

It's not that reassembly is awful or not fun. It IS fun. But it is also challenging in a way that the disassembly is not. When you are trying to open the puzzle, at least part of the time you are exploring, trying random stuff. Sometimes that even works, and you may or may not know why after it does. It's all an exciting journey of discover and deduction.

Reassembly makes you understand the puzzle.

I would call both "beautiful processes".

Reassembly took only a minute or two longer than disassembly

Difference is assembly took more educated guessing and apart was just guessing for the most part. At least for me.

I see Chris Ramsay posted a video about the First Box.
Of course I only checked the intro and then turned it off. I will do this myself, thank you.

He's entertaining to watch after you've solved the puzzle though. To each their own.

Oh, I like watching his videos. I will just have to wait for this one until I have solved it first.

And I hate his videos. I only think he wants to earn money and don't care about the puzzles. I think the world was a better place without his videos :)
