The DanLock

Post by mattangel »

The Danlock
Image
The object of this puzzle is, of course, to open the lock and to release the locked key. Two keys are provided. Unfortunately, one key is locked and the other is broken... Can you find the key to the solution?

No external tools are allowed, just the lock and the two keys provided with it. Not even the small metal ring that holds the two broken parts of the key, neither the bag that comes with the DanLock.

This puzzle is available directly from Dan Feldman (feldman@bezeqint.net). Grand Illusions may also carry this piece.

Danlock is a great puzzle. It is actually a real padlock made into a puzzle, not a puzzle that only looks like a padlock.

You may want to get on the waiting list soon! It took me several months to get one.

Also, try dropping an email to Hendrik Ball at Grand Illusions as there's always a chance that he may have some or be getting some in the near future.

It says on their site that they have them in stock, but they're £99.99 so I think it's still cheaper to buy it directly from Dan.

Yep, it is definitely more expensive (most things on Grand Illusions do tend to be), although I was impatient so ordered one from there anyway. They weren't showing as 'in stock' when I was looking to order one, but when I contacted Hendrik he said that he had one there and was getting more in the near future. Even when he did have more in I'm sure the site still said that it was out of stock.

They probably just sell that quickly.

If it is an actual padlock couldn't you just get one from the hardware store? or is there more to it :?:

Dan Feldman actually takes an Israeli made Nabob padlock and modifies it into different puzzles...
