If it's any consolation I just emailed Wil to confess that I've opened and closed it several times but don't think I've really solved it yet... the series of random stuff I tend to try seems to work, but I can't say why, yet...

I've now opened it several times and understand it. I love this puzzle and think its a true 'back to roots Strijbos puzzle'.

I took me a good few hours to open it fully ;)

That's good to know, Ali. Mine is on its way ( I had to wait for Wil to find me a copy of "Tan-Talizing" amongst all his boxes ;) ).
If it is, as you say, a "back to roots Strijbos puzzle" then I'm sure I'm going to enjoy it.

Has anybody worked out why he called it the "Lotus" yet ?
