Impossible Playing Cards

Yes, it seems there are two categories:

A: True folded cards ( Puzzlers ? ) These can be unfolded and worked out topographically.
B: Trick/Illusion cards ( Magicians ? )

I'm not sure about Olympic rings ( semicircles - if you look, only one intertwines all the others, which actually rest one on the other ). We need to see that one up close (without glass). Or look at the back.
All the one's I have posted could be examined and found to be just folded, apart from that last one, which would be in category B the way I made it. I haven't found a true fold method for that one.... ( I did destroy quite a few cards trying )

No I haven't seen the swirlygig video, I will have a look, thanks for the tip...

That is a great link need, thanks for sharing.
I have asked the Lilly library about the missing or erroneous pictures.
Did someone already contact Ian (or any other known 'impossible card folder') for more information?

...those hypercard thingies almost work better on a sheet of plain white card, don't they? (or a gimmicked playing card, but those aren't easy to get hold of / make)

...that way you can't see that the middle bits are back-to-front, so it looks like the paper is just cut and folded upwards - except hat doesn't really work, does it!)

Anyway, what do I know - I can't even do all these cool things you, Louis and Oli have been up to !

It's OK, you're telling us about new stuff ( Your blog got us started on this in the first place )--- I'll have a look at Hypercards next, and see what that's all about.... All good fun and it is exercise for the puzzle brain as well.
