Pyrigan & Company
I just ordered the Model 360 from Pyrigan & Company on the Puzzlemaster website (now sold out). Anyone know much about this puzzle? Or the 808? I hadn’t heard of the designer before, but it looked like an interesting puzzle at a reasonable price so I took a chance. I should have it next week!

Re: Pyrigan & Company
Supposedly a very cool puzzle. I missed out on the first one and was thinking of getting that one but still undecided

Re: Pyrigan & Company
I have both ones, the 808 was a very good dovetail puzzle with a classic mechanism inside but the difficulty is highly increased by some very subtle improvments added (on Kevin Sadler's blog it is told about a possibility to modify the puzzle to increase or decrease the difficulty. In fact it is just about withdrawing one by one all these added locks which make the puzzle unique, so that is not the most interesting thing about it...). All in all it makes it a complex "black box" that recquires about 6 moves to be done in the correct sequence to open it. Depending of how much moves you have done well you will be able to open it a little more and more. As for the quality it is very well made, nothing special to report.
The model 360 feels even heavier and more complex but I hadn't time to seriously try to open it for now. The only thing is that the emerald orb in mine has some scratches maybe because of the thigtness of the place it is enclosed in. It can turn inside but it is a bit difficult, I don't know yet if it has anything to do with the solution.

Re: Pyrigan & Company
With a bit of help from Tim I was able to solve it! (And now I am back to my DOT Box which is also getting me a bit frustrated).
It is a quite clever one, I think I even like it better than model #808...
The puzzle is very accurately done, this internal mechanism looks stunning and seeing it as a reward is as pleasant as taking the orb out!
