Hi Rich, As I said in my previous post, I let a friend try it out "before I had opened it myself".
So, no I had not opened it. And after my friend had given it back to me it was seized up, I
could only turn it a little bit clock-wise or counter clock wise. That did nothing, so that' s when
I got out the heavy artillery, hoping that I could break it free to turn freely or that it would
open. All I did was really screw it up and made it worse. Now it is completely "locked up".
Not only does it look terrible with the gouge marks on it, I fear I have ruined the mechanism.
Does Will have a warranty that covers "stupidity"? :>)

@ y2K hmm sounds like something more sinister than the mechanism simply seizing has occurred as if the mechanism had locked up the puzzle should still open (without any force).

As for broken puzzles from Wil I'm not sure what his policy is but he is a nice guy so it's definitely worth sending him an email describing the problem, see what he says!

@ Fox5, PM sent with Wil''s email

Hi Rich, Thank you for your advice. I think I will just ship it back to
him and he can do with it what he wants. I would also like to get
on his mailing list so I may purchase other puzzles. Regards, Bill

I had the same problem with my first one :(

You'll most likely find that a bit of swarf from the milling process has come loose and jammed it :(

My second one has been stripped and thoroughly cleaned of all swarf before being lubed and carefully reassembled :D

It's been faultless ever since ;)

(Still not as good as his first one though :D)

Just drop Wil an email and explain, he's an exceptional chap to deal with ;)

He's about to head off East for a week or two... I doubt there'll be one until after he returns.
