Hey Ymir,

I tried to break into it ... using feeler gauges as shims.
You can get into locks this way.
I also used the old bounce the pin lock picking method ....
I even tried to just break the pin ... just try to snap it off ... nope to that too.

Damn well engineered product.

I ended up having to hacksaw it open ! :)

Looking back now though .. I should have just drilled a hole and released the pin that way.

I still have not opened my new green yet ! even with the old shaft exposed
Haven't really had the time. This blue is very close though.....

Go on .. tell me .. it couldn't be as crazy as my attempt.

Wow! What attracts you to these puzzles? Is it just the look of them and the engineering aspect?
Clearly it's not down to the thrill of puzzling if you're happy to brute force them open like that

It's been discussed a few time before that they're tricky to open with tools... even US/Canadian customs (I don't remember which) didn't manage it with tools and just sent it back to Chris with drill and cut marks all over it

To others thinking about sawing and drilling their puzzles... this is not an approved method and your puzzle won't be recognised as open if you use anything other than the intended method.

Yes both and most importantly, the inventive step ... I hold a patent too and appreciate a good "novel step".

Wrong .. completely wrong. I am VERY interested in the puzzle aspect.
Just because you chop one up because you broke it does not make the argument above valid.
Though it is true that not many puzzles interest me much. Sorry I am not a puzzleaholic like some here.

According to Chris it was British customs and also according to him I am not the first

As I have stated before on this forum (and to Chris).. I am not interested in the competition.

I will open mine according to the approved methods and submit the required evidence, in my own good time...(probably years at my pace).

Until then .. should I feel like attacking one ... I will :D

Oh.. and will I be allowed in the Open sections if I receive an unmade CE ?
Probably not .. but that is of no interest to me either.

Some of the hotshots like to post their opening times .. YAWN .. but I am not out to prove anything to anyone any time or anywhere about the revo.

They are for my pleasure and the pleasure of my friends and family.

One of the many quality's I admire in people is intelligence (not that I claiming that for myself.)
Chris is one step ahead of all of us.

For instance ... if I was a smarty-pants and wanted to win the competition I would have bought 2 puzzles at once.
One through a third party then I would have chopped the first one up and got practising.

However ... Chris being one step ahead has made the last step imposisble using that tecqnique,
Each gold unique with a unique algorithm. Correct ?
So that stops that little trick right in it's steps ....

Yet another reason why I like Revos and Mr Pitt.

I sent Chris my photos of my broken green.... ;) ;)

If you like .. I will start a poll .... re: ezamover welcome or not ... I will abide by the community decision.

Yes I he was .. but not because he opened it that way but because he was not honest about how he did it .....
Trying to pull the wool over Chris's eyes is a big mistake methinks.

...he did one or two other things too, all of which no doubt contributed to his banning, but we won't be discussing them.
