That's why I ordered Nickel. Although, if RevoGirl talks me in to ordering other Silver and Golds, then I could leave my Collectors Edition untouched, and so upgrade to Gold plating .......mattangel1 wrote:Gold is a softer metal than nickel, so I would expect the appearance of the core would be better preserved by nickel plating, especially if you haven't opened these puzzles before. Regardless of how careful you are, you're going to wear on the plating as you explore these for the first time.
Edit: That being said, I've only ever had a plating issue with one of my puzzles, but that was a different issue all together. I just opened my silver (you're a lucky man) to examine the core closely for wear and it looks fine, even after the beating that it took at my hands. To be honest the gold plating may stand up just as well to the wear, but I would still go with nickel just to be safe.
Thus ends my humble opinion
Edit #2: I just realized that I have to re-assemble my silver
Mmm Titanium ~~~~~~
