Lame.

Wouldn't a double plating scratch even more?

No one here knows how well the gold over nickle plating will wear. I asked Joe this very question but he hasn't responded yet. It's only been a couple of days since I asked.

Joe answered my question about the plating today. He said they expect the gold plated and nickel plated cores to have similar wear characteristics when used as a puzzle with the spring loaded pin. Again, if you want absolutely pristine cores of either plating it would be best to have them shipped unassembled without the pin.

Does anyone know if the plating is just the maze portion or the entire shaft.

My assumption is that the entire core is gold plated. I have no idea what they plan for the dynamic mazes parts. Another question is whether the steel draw bar is plated too. I would think not since they've never been plated with the regular nickel plated mazes.

I assumed when i ordered that the entire shaft, draw, & components would be plated the same. Although maybe the unplated parts would really stand out and look great. although, i think i'd still want the draw plated.
