I saw Sophie's Announcement about vacation and decided to see how the CE sets were coming. Sounds like all the Gold CE sets are being packaged today and will be sent tomorrow. (Awesome!)

Not all of the gold CE sets.
Some were delayed because the platers wanted to raise the price higher than what was originally agreed upon. I would assume the issue has been resolved.

Chris just sent me the shipping notice today. Mine is scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday with signature required. Unfortunately, due to the holiday this week, there won't be anyone home this week to receive it. Does anyone know how many delivery attempts UPS makes before they automatically return it to the sender?
Needs to be updated!

When i was living in Virginia they left a notice saying pick it up. Then i think they hold it for some period of time. I want to say 30 days but that just sounds way too long.
Edit: You can also go online and have them hold your mail saying you'll pick it up. I've had to do that a few times.

Usually in the USA, they will make two attempts. After that they will keep it at the local post. They will give you a notice at yor door the first attempt and every successive attempt when they will try to deliver it again. If you don't want to take this risk you can leave a note at your door to have them try and have a trusted neighbor sign it. If none of the solutions seem likely, track the package and leave a note to the delivery guy telling them when you will be back.

According to the tracking the first failed delivery attempt happened today. Thankfully it was shipped signature required or it would be sitting on my front porch all week. However, from what I can figure out from UPS.COM is that they will only make 3 delivery attempts before returning it to sender. That will happen on Thursday and I won't be home to sign for it until Friday. I'm trying to figure out their My Choice thing using my phone's browser (I just set up an account) but I can't find any option to reschedule the delivery. I just keep getting a pop up telling me which features I can get if I sign up for their premium service for $40. And even if I do so it looks like I would be able to pick from 1 of 3 different 2 hour delivery windows, but not a different date.
Needs to be updated!

Are there many people waiting on the CE sets still? Or have most of them shipped out now?

I don't know much about UPS so I couldn't help you with that.
I would check and see if any trust worthy neighbors will either wait at your house until delivery or have them post a note saying that your neighbor will sign for. At the bare minimum you can have your neighbor write a note saying to reschedule the delivery date as you are out of town.
